Time for some bargain and treasure hunting at the largest flea market in Texas - just minutes away from the ranch!   The old adage one man's junk is another man's treasure is certainly true!  There ain't nothing you can't find at the First Monday Flea Market!  Hell, I've even found a date there!

It's our first annual Murder Mystery weekend at the J!  Think CSI and finding DNA to solve the mystery of the errant camper!  Search for the clues and help us put the pieces together to identify the victim and whodunit!

It's time to head to the Goodwill and Salvation Army for a shopping trip!  Grab up yer toilet planters, yer tulip tires, whirlygigs and plastic flowers, not to mention yer beer can lights and head out the ranch for White Trash Weekend!  A few blacked out teeth wouldn't hurt either!  Think Sordid lives here and hang out that red bra from yer tent or trailer!  It's time to set yer hair in toilet roll curlers, put on yer favorite tube top, get yer baby up under yer arm and let yer inner white trash shine!  Prizes for the best or worst as the case may be campsite!

Come celebrate the (un)official end of summer at the Ranch.  Labor day is always a big to-do here.  We'll be having a splashing good time at the pool and the pond.  Make your reservations early to be sure to get your favorite spot.

This is also a 1st Monday Trade Days Weekend in Canton, so come on out to enjoy the World's Largest Flea Market by day and the campfire by night.  More information on 1st Monday here.

The ranch has a giant, natural amphitheater just perfect for mudding up and getting dirty.  We're going to have a wrestling exhibition, a Turkish style naked olive oil wrestling event and a no holds barred mud wrestling competition.  We doubt it will really matter to anyone whether you win or lose - it's all about the "sportsmanship".

Be sure to bring plenty of soap, as the clean-up will be just as much fun as the getting dirty! And SUPERSOAKERS are encouraged!

We're all very lucky.  We have our health and we have our friends and loved ones to share our lives with.  We should all be thankful every day for all the things we take for granted.  All of us here at the Circle J Ranch have certainly been blessed and it's time to give back to the community that has embraced us all and given us so much love, joy and happiness.  We'd be honored if you'd come out for our 1st annual benefit weekend.  Proceeds from the events and weekend will go to benefit our AIDS/Hospice community.   We've all lost friends and loved ones through the years, and thankfully meds have enabled many to live healthy lives.  However there are still too many who need our help to live with dignity and also when the time comes to die with dignity.  Please come and help us make this a very meaningful and successful event!

ATTENTION ALL YOU BEARS!  We're having the 1st annual Mr Camp Circle J Bear contest!  Bring yer cubs, otters and weasels to cheer you on!  The winner will be sponsored by the Circle J Ranch to compete in the Mr. TBRU Competition in March 2011.   Besides the contest there'll be plenty of Bear in the Woods activities!  We'll be hiding some "lil" bears for you to hunt!  Prizes will be awarded for the Golden Bear and most Bears found!

It'll be a dark night, so don't forget your torches.  Get your costumes together, and plan to create a ghoulish campsite.  There will be a costume contest, and contest for best decorated campsite, as well as a traditional pumpkin carving contest.  Prizes to for best costume, best campsite and best jack-o-lantern.

We'll also be having a haunted hayride ending at the spooky campfire for ghost stories and cocktails.

This is one of the most popular weekends of our calender year.     Sponsored by the Battalion Motorcycle Corps.  An annual fund raiser for the Corps. Battalion MC's annual Turkey Shoot is a 22cal. rifle target shooting competition.  Prizes for the winning competitors. If you love Chili and Hot bikers Shooting off you won't want to miss this weekend. 

Membership and day pass fees are waived on Saturday for this event for day visitors.  Men AND Women AND Children ( when accompanied by parent) are all welcome to visit and participate in the ranch events during the day.  Overnight camping fees will still apply if you intend on staying overnight.

All chili cook-off contestants:  NO ENTRANCE FEE.  Prep work may be done at home but assembly and final cooking must be done on the ranch.  Bring your own equipment, ie: grills, pots and pans, heat source, etc.  A limited number of electric sources will be provided on a "first come first serve" basis.  Chili tasting will begin at 4pm on Saturday.  Contestants will be provided sample cups to serve tastes to judges (those in possession of an official ballot slip).    Make it pretty!  There will be prizes for the best presentation.

• Judging:  Visitors and guests may pay $5 for a bowl, a spoon and an official ballot slip to vote for their favorite chili.  Voting will conclude at 5:30pm sharp on Saturday afternoon.   Eat as much as you like then cast your ballot for the best Chili and best presentation.
• First prize chili takes home 50% of the Chili cook-off proceeds.
• Second prize:  Will take home an all expense paid weekend for two at the Circle J Ranch and Cattle Co.
• Best presentation:  Will take home a brand new Circle J T-shirt and Circle J dinner certificate for two.

Turkey Shoot Contestants: $10 entrance fee gets you a Rifle, ammunition, and targets.  Rifles will be supplied by the Battalion MC. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN FIREARMS. Thank you. Prizes will be awarded by Battalion for best Standing, Kneeling and Prone positions. 

We're looking forward to a REALLY great time!

We've truly been blessed this year at the Circle J.  It's been a busy summer with many new members accepted into the fold.  So, in appreciation of all the support of our members here at the Camp, Thanksgiving Day will be a complementary camping day for all of our current members, waiving all fees and party charges to our current members.    We are planning a full Thanksgiving spread including Turkey and all of the fixings', and if anyone wants to come on down and enjoy the day with us and share in our bounty, we are opening the feast to anyone who contributes a covered dish to the table.  If you are interested in participating in this DAY of giving THANKS at the ranch, please just let us know ahead of time so that we will have enough TURKEY!!

All of us grew up thinking that in the year 2011 we would be spending New Year's Eve in outer space or at least cruising to the party in our flying car.  Like so many things, here we are and the reality is not quite what we were led to believe.  Some things are a disappointment.  Some things, on the other hand, are most certainly not...like the fact that Circle J Ranch is going to be having one hell of New Year 2011...and you're invited!

New Year's Eve will be on Friday this year!  We're hoping that means our members can get a four day weekend to come hang out and start the year off right.  We have a great party planned and we really want you all to come enjoy it with us.  We have the weather curtains down for the season and the heaters going everywhere to make it nice and cozy for a night of New Year's Eve fun.  Give us a call at the ranch to get all of the juicy details.  This is going to be one you won't want to miss.

Remember that when you come to the ranch for the party, you will park your car and forget about it.  No need to worry about dangerous roads, drunk drivers or inclement weather conditions.  When you decide your evening is over (even if it isn't until the next day) you will have a place within walking or stumbling distance to get some much needed rest.

We may not have flying cars or personal robot maids, but we know 2011 is going to be the best year ever for the Circle J Ranch.
